Word. Look below.
I'll work on that scanner thing...and try to upload our review sheet answer keys. Test was good...average for class was 65%. You will have chance for extra credit with Tuesday's HW (see below).
Hope you played in the snow!!

Midterm Exam
Hi everyone!! The Midterm examination is Friday! It's on, well, everything. This past week's exam was a'ight, I suspect you didn't do as well as I wasn't physically in the room to provide assistance. But, alas, that's what the Regents will be like.
Hope you are all enjoying the 3 day weekend. We will have an exam review on Thursday, plus there will be tutoring 5th period Thursday in 203 (bring your lunch). This week will be explore the wonders of momentum. Fun for all.

Physics Tutoring!!!
Ok. I promise to be in my office (203) on Thursdays for Physics tutoring during period 5. Please bring your lunch as well as your Physics questions (from class, homework, quizzes or exams). I know everyone has lunch 5th period, so spend it in 203 working on Physics. It's getting cold outside, anyways.....

HUGE Improvement on class exam!
Kudos to all, the scores on the class exam were great...and not curved. We still need work on short answer, but everyone did well on multiple choice. Keep it up!
This week, we are talking about friction. Homework will be assigned out of both the Giancoli textbook AND the Prentice Hall review book. Remember, I have different editions of both, so PLEASE email me if the page numbers do not match up (hpage@schools.nyc.gov). You should be able to find the problems based on the descriptions.
Enjoy this sunny sunday, and see you all on Tuesday.
FYI: HW #18 is for Tuesday & #19 is for Wednesday.

Ok. Two exams done. What's next?
This week we are concentrating on dealing soley with vectors. From the test, I am thinking of a few class modifications. First, more homework (sorry peeps, we need MORE practice). Also, I'm going to try the workshop model in class (it's more common in math classes). Overall, you peeps are performing well and working hard. My thoughts on Physics, you have to think.
Pelly & I discussed: exam was long. Mad long, so here's extra credit.
Extra credit for exam:
Go through each of the multiple choice questions (that you got wrong), and provide 1-2 sentences for which answer is correct and why. You can also draw and label any diagrams. This MUST be handed in by Friday, you will be given up to 1 point for each question (depending on the effort you put in).
Kudos to Ben, Olivia and (wait for it...) Jaroslav for having the highest percentage of correct multiple choice! 90%, 87% and 87% respectfully. Woo-hooo! Pats on the back, peeps.

Prepare for heft...
I'm giving you true textbooks (if there's enough in the book room upstairs). I have been planning using the Giancoli Physics book which is an "Advanced HS Edition". It's easy to understand and much more in-depth than silly review book. Trust me, you'll thank me later. Both for your vast physics knowledge and strong arms, um, from carrying textbook.
My physics peeps: There is a distinct possibility I may be absent manana. My knee is extremely sore from today, I hurt it while at PT. Why should you care? Well, you will miss me. BUT my fearless Ohmies, I shall leave you sub-work. Sorry, peeps. Just because I can't walk down the stairs doesn't mean you should be deprived of education.
Oh, for those interested, I'm chaperoning Fright Fest. Bonus points to all who attend and complete a worksheet....woo-hoo! Roller coasters, roller coasters, cha-cha-cha!!!

Next Unit: Mechanics
Ok lil' peeps, we start a new unit this week (applause, please). Tomorrow we will review the exam (yes, it's graded) then we shall move on to mechanics, a major topic for this semester. To get a jump start on material, start to read Topic 2 in your workbook. For those who are extremely motivated, the next three homework assignments are posted. Page, over and out.

The Game is On.
Pellegrino has started to cheer on her freshman. What do 9th graders know about Physics? Edwin M. has defected to the dark side. Um, Pellegrino is obviously the dark side. She is the Darth Vader to my Hans Solo (he's cooler than Skywalker anyways). It's not Edwin's fault, just a program change. But he's rolling with the newbies. (Although rumor has it, he has already cheered for our class whilst in the newbie class).

Answers to Homework Posted Here!!
I'm going to post the answers to homework assignments on the blog, check out the links at the right (um, all class files are at www.classnotesonline.com). That way you can check your own answers in case I don't get a chance to check all homeworks!
I'm entering your grades for the mini-lab. If your paper is crumpled, missing a corner and chewed a bit, that was Boo's fault. He LOVES to try to eat your assignments and homeworks. Sorry about that.
EXAM THIS FRIDAY!! Alright physics peeps, time to SHINE. We are taking the SAME exam as Pelly's 9th grade physics class. We are older, wiser, and let's face it, cooler. I'm all about competition, don't let me down. OUTSCORE THE NEWBIES!!!

Enjoy the weekend....
...as we have made it through the first week of school! If you are bringing extra credit supplies for our upcoming measurement lab, please bring supplies to room 203 during your lunch on Monday.

First day of class...
Ok. So this post for the first day of class is actually being written before the first day of class. Before I have the roster or any idea who's in the class. Anyway...the first homework assignment is organizational in nature ONLY, please don't think that's how I roll. It is not. Future homework assignments will, um, have more weight.
SOoooooOOoo...after the first day, please make sure you have your notebook in order, bring it to class everyday along with a calculator, the reference table and both a pen and pencil.
